Getting Started

CrossFit Chula Vista offers 1-on-1 private training as well as small and large group training. The way you get started depends on your personal goals and your current level of fitness. There are two routes of admission to our group CrossFit classes: personal training, and the On Ramp class.


Your first step is to give us a call at (619) 934-9934 to schedule a FREE Introductory Consultation. The introductory session will give you the chance to meet one-on-one with a coach, discuss your fitness goals, and experience a CrossFit workout. During the workout, the coach will assess your experience, skill and fitness level to determine the enrollment option to best help you achieve your goals. Enrollment Options:

On-Ramp Classes:
Our On Ramp class meet 3 days a week for 4 weeks and are limited to 10 clients. They are designed to get you familiar with the basic movements that make up the foundation of CrossFit (this includes Nutrition). New clients will learn techniques and skills and will get a progressive introduction to the intensity levels that are inherent in our Workout of the Day (WODs). We include a success journal so you can track both your nutrition and workouts.

Twelve On-On-One Sessions:
During these individual sessions, you will learn the basic movements that make up the foundation of CrossFit.

Fast Track:
Six one-on-one sessions for those who have had some CrossFit WOD experience.

Test Out:
1 hour one-on-one session for those with CrossFit experience. This is a pass or fail. If you fail you can Fast Track with coach's recommendations.


Once you have completed On-Ramp or the fundamental training of your choice, you are ready to participate in our Team Training (WODs). The WOD occurs every hour on the hour and will optimize general physical skills including: cardiovascular/respiratory, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy.

Training

The first step at CrossFit Chula Vista is a free Introductory Workout. This is a complimentary one-on-one training session where you will experience a CrossFit workout. We want to meet your needs by assessing your fitness level and discussing your goals. Maybe you are an athlete in great condition looking to get an edge in your sport or maybe for the past few years you have devoted your time and energy to your career or raising a family and you have fallen out of shape. Either way, we can devise a fitness plan for you! Introduction sessions are by appointment only so call (619) 934-9934 to schedule your session.

After your Introductory Workout, you are ready to begin our Fundamental Training. Fundamental training consists of 8 one-on-one hour-long sessions with a CrossFit coach. Since at least 60% of your results will depend on what you eat, nutrition is the first session. We will work with you to show you how, what and when to eat real food to achieve maximum results. At each subsequent Fundamental session, you will learn all of the basic skills that make up CrossFit including Olympic Lifting and Metabolic Conditioning.

When your Fundamental Training sessions are complete, you will transition to the Workout Of the Day (WOD). The WOD is posted every day and is done every hour on the hour. Although you have transitioned to the WOD, you are never on your own. The workout is reviewed with the group and supervised by coaches who will give you constant supervision and feedback.
